Weekly Notables

by Katy on June 1, 2011

Late again this week, but really, who was reading on Monday this week? I hope that everyone had a restful Memorial Day and is now looking forward to a short work week.

So here’s the best of the best from the week of May 22nd-28th.

Writing:

For the Love of the Run written by Katherine on Claim Your Journey is a story about passion and overcoming obstacles. Katherine also has her own blog, which can be found at www.katherineswims.com

38 Years Ago This Month on the blog Not Right About Anything shows a number of pictures of Butte LaRose when it flooded in 1973–the last time they opened the Morganza spillway.

The Ultimate Home Project by Christa at One Cheap Mama really struck a chord with me and probably will with most parents.

and

Elaine over at The Miss Elaine-ous Life has another standout posts as a result of a Red Dress Challenge: She Was Wrong.

For the Shopping/Cool-Hunting Crowd:

Ashley at Dramatis Personae introduces the reader (and me) to the amazing costuming that appears at The Met Ball in her post Fashion, Fantasy, and The Met Ball.

The Chic Shopper Chick Erika has a great week covering celebrity fashion with her posts Celeb Style: Carrie Underwood on American Idol and Duchess Catherine Causes Fashion Frenzy, Crashes Website.

and

Christy at Slow Southern Style introduces a new segment on street style that will be occurring regularly on her blog and written by a contributing writer, Liz–the first post is entitled Southern Street Style.

For the Foodies:

Clearly Delicious shares a gorgeous post on Boiled Crawfish and includes her personal recipe for perfect mudbugs.

I’d also like to point out two blogger projects in the works:

Heidi at Craft Monkey will be hosting a Safari Blog Hop along with two other bloggers–go check out her site for details.

Greta at Kiss My Gumbo is starting a fitness challenge–she begins with a post on Inspiration and you can also look for the hash tag #GeauxGetFit on Twitter.
